From the CDC and other sources:

The Coronavirus infection can cause mild symptoms to severe illness, with an unusual high percentage of infections resulting in death.

These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath

Headache and body aches are common, and half of the cases start with gastrointestinal symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

If you have these symptoms, it doesn't mean you have a Coronavirus infection, but you are more likely to have it. Contact your family physician or local health department and find out how to get tested. Most testing is done in mobile labs, to avoid sick patients spreading the disease in crowded waiting rooms. Much ado has been made about testing, but in reality, there's not much they will do for you after testing you, except quarantine you at home until the results are finalized, which takes about 3 days. However, I CAN HELP YOU NOW! But more on that in a minute.

If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 infection, you should get medical attention immediately by calling 911. Emergency warning signs include:

  • Trouble breathing

  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

  • New confusion or inability to arouse

  • Bluish lips or face

Evidence from China shows the coronavirus to be a highly contagious infection. Death is from severe pneumonia and respiratory failure. Twenty percent of COVID-19 infections required ICU care for respiratory failure, and the death rate in China was 3 percent.

Did you know there's some recent evidence that a combination of medicines called hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin have been shown to reduce lethality of COVID-19?

From the recently published study

"Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine are oral prescription drugs that have been used for treatment of malaria and certain inflammatory conditions. Chloroquine has been used for malaria treatment and chemoprophylaxis, and hydroxychloroquine is used for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and porphyria cutanea tarda. Both drugs have in-vitro activity against SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2, and other coronaviruses, with hydroxychloroquine having relatively higher potency against SARS-CoV-2. A study in China reported that chloroquine treatment of COVID-19 patients had clinical and virologic benefit versus a comparison group, and chloroquine was added as a recommended antiviral for treatment of COVID-19 in China [6]. Based upon limited in-vitro and anecdotal data, chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine are currently recommended for treatment of hospitalized COVID-19 patients in several countries.... Due to higher in-vitro activity against SARS-CoV-2 and its wider availability in the United States compared with chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine has been administered to hospitalized COVID-19 patients on an uncontrolled basis in multiple countries, including in the United States. One small study reported that hydroxychloroquine alone or in combination with azithromycin reduced detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in upper respiratory tract specimens compared with a non-randomized control group but did not assess clinical benefit."

On Tucker's show on March 18, Gregory Rigano, a Stanford University Medical School advisor, gave more details on the results of a study he announced on Laura Ingram's show the night before. A 40-patient, well-controlled, peer-reviewed medical study discovered that 100% of the 20 patients who took a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin were CURED of COVID-19 after only six days of treatment! YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT. 100%! Given the statistical severity of this illness, that's a remarkable finding. (*We don't like to use the word "cure" in medicine, but in this study, there's a strong case to argue that these medicines were curative!) The sample size is not large enough to push the FDA's needle very much, but in the absence of other outpatient therapies, I sure want the medications in my fridge, don't you?

Most doctors will not write them until there's FDA approval, and there's some sense to that recommendation. No physician wants to recommend a medicine that might prove to be unsafe or ineffective. But if there's no other option, wouldn't it be nice to have these medications in your possession now, rather than wait until the medications get the FDA approval and the pharmacies are all sold out?
