A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM DR. JOHNSTON

May 25, 2024

For personal reasons, I am extending my sabbatical until July of this year, two more months than intended. It's necessary for my personal health.

Kaitlyn Barnett, our amazing Nurse Practitioner, is kindly continuing to work three days a week. And we are sorting through several NP and PA candidates and will probably bring one on board within a couple weeks.

You may be more likely to go to the Urgent Care for urgent problems, as Kaitlyn is going to be very busy. Let it be a reminder of what every other family practice and pediatric practice does after hours: send their patients to the E.R. or Urgent Care. We will only do it temporarily. We will meet your needs as best as we can after hours.

I apologize for the modification of our practice hours, but I promise that it is temporary.

Some of you have scheduled appointments for me in June. Those appointments will have to be cancelled. Please go to the website, and schedule an appointment with Kaitlyn. It can be a phone appointment. I will increase my hours when I return to ensure all needs are adequately met.

Many of our patients come to us because they are reluctant to get all the vaccines, and are tired of being kicked out of pediatricians' offices for not getting all the shots, or being berated for their choices. With the lack of informed consent when it comes to vaccinations, believe me, it's worse than you realize.

To aspiring patients: give us a chance.

To our family practice patients: thank you for your loyalty.
